THE COUNCIL |
Members may elect up to three people to represent their country at Council meetings. They are elected at the beginning of alternate years. Nomination papers are included in the last Bulletin of the previous year. Anyone can become a Council member and represent the country in which he/she lives, providing he/she has been an individual member of OIDFA for two years.
The Council holds meetings once a year. They meet during the Congress, and in the year between Congresses they meet at the venue for the next Congress i.e. this year the Council met in Bakkeveen, the Netherlands, (for pictures click here) next year they will meet again in the Netherlands, in Groningen, the venue for the Congress in 2008.
When
a person is elected as a Council member he/she will receive a folder which
contains, amongst other things, information about OIDFA and about the role of a
Council member.
If
you are a member and have a question about OIDFA please ask your Council members
because they may have the answer. If not, you or they can always contact a
member of the EC. If your country
does not have a Council member why not think about becoming one?
One of the tasks of the Council is to elect Congress venues after presentations from Council members of the countries wishing to host a Congress.
