*Even during their short vacation in Bakkeveen in March 2008 (where the courses will be held preceding the Groningen Congress) two members of the Dutch Congress Organising Committee, Renée van Walsum and Lennie Posthumus, went daily to the Internet shop to read their e-mails!

*The OIDFA 25^th Anniversary year is now at an end, but we are looking back to the many activities arranged for our members and the actions to attract new members.

The prelude of the celebration was a gift to all true OIDFA members as a way to say thank you for their loyal support.  All those who renewed their membership for 2008 received a reduced membership fee for the anniversary year.

The next event was the gift of an anniversary bobbin, in form of an English spangled bobbin. We thank all the English OIDFA members who offered their time for the members in other countries by spangling the 2000 bobbins; a true international fellowship. The anniversary bobbin was very well received and is surely placed in many enthusiastic lace-makers collection of beautiful lace-related items.

An anniversary bulletin accompanied the bobbin and was produced in good co-operation between our president and former editor. The normal bulletin continues celebrating with extra colour pages.

To attract the eye of people who still do not know about our organisation there was the introduction of an advertisement campaign, starting with a birthday-cake. The campaign, which is realised by another of OIDFA's many dear friends, will continue during the next year, and the Administrative Council members have received a set of posters to be used during lace-events in their country.

There was also a special celebration dinner during the Administrative Council meeting in Groningen, where members were represented by their delegates in the Administrative Council.

Thank you all for joining us in the celebration, and we are hoping for the best for OIDFA during the coming 25 years. First of all, let us meet again at the OIDFA General Assembly and Congress in Groningen, The Netherlands, 2008.

  *The President and Vice-President have been to Japan to meet with the Congress Organising Committee and the Japanese members to discuss the Congress Guidelines and the planning of the 2010 OIDFA Congress in Kobe.
