Aemilia Ars Needle Lace – Course on site

Aemilia Ars is a needle lace from Bologna, a town in northern Italy. It originates from Reticella, but quickly developed into Punto in aria based on famous pattern books from Bologna. Participants will make lace according to motifs from drawings by Italian engraver and etcher Bartolomeo Danieli.

Two patterns will be available: for beginners and for lacemakers who already have some skills in needle lacemaking.

Patterns, support cards, needles, threads and explanation notes will be provided at the course. Participants should bring their own scissors and thimble.

Dates and timetable:

Monday, 31 July – Wednesday, 2 August, 10.00 – 13.00 and 14.30 – 17.00 AND Thursday, 3 August, 10.00 – 13.30.

Price per person:
450 € for 6 participants
400 € for 7 participants
350 € for 8 participants; Prices include patterns and lunches. Courses will be provided in English and, if necessary, also in French.

Location: All on-site workshops will take place in classrooms at the Student Dormitory Nova Gorica, address: Streliška pot 7, Nova Gorica, Slovenia. It is a 10 minute walk to the city centre and a 13 minute walk to the Congress venue.
