All half day excursions include transport, tour guide, and museum fees. All tours are walking tours. Lunch is not included. Prices will be announced later on the website and in the Bulletin.

On this half-day trip, visitors will learn about the life of the famous Bulgarian poet and revolutionary, Hristo Botev; explore one of the first schools in Bulgaria; and visit a maiden monastery known as the cradle of girls’ education during the 18th and 19th centuries.
On exhibit in Kalofer is a permanent collection of Kalofer bobbin lace as well as an exhibition specially assembled for the Congress, showcasing traditional and modern bobbin lace created from many different Bulgarian lacemakers, museums, and groups.

Learn about the history of Karlovo during your visit to the national museum Vasil Levski National Museum and the Karlovo History Museum. The Museum of History contains monuments of culture from ancient times to the present day, including a wide variety of crafts that flourished in the area.
Karlovo also has its Old Town. The narrow cobble-stone alleys lead up to beautiful houses built out of wood and stone in the style typical of the Bulgarian National Revival period. The Owl Inn is one of the emblematic houses in the complex which has been adapted into a center of crafts and cultural traditions.  While at the Owl Inn enjoy the dexterity of today’s craftsmen in wood carving, Kalofer lace, embroidery, weaving and pottery, and even try a cup of aromatic coffee prepared on sand.

What is included in the price:
Vertical wine degustation, white wine tasting accompanied by a variety of traditional Bulgarian cheeses from a local cheese maker and carefully selected meat delicacies, all prepared by a special recipe of Château Copsa.
